Healthy Living

Choosing a Healthy Life
By Bianca Rothschild

Because of the importance of our environment, it is worth introducing some healthy lifestyle choices into our lives. In some instances, this may be as simple as changing brands in the supermarket; planet and people-friendly brands are popping up across many grocery lines and organics are becoming more readily available. So playing a part in taking care of the environment by reducing toxins and packaging is now quite easy.

Also consider including music when making healthy changes. Sound can have profound healing and uplifting effects, so it’s a good idea to consider the types of sounds we subject ourselves to. Start building a new CD collection – instead of buying a top 40 CD, try a relaxation CD to unwind after work, or a flavour of world music for an atmospheric and uplifting experience.

The place to start is in your own life - find exciting and healthy things to do and play with! Participate in activities that will add to your health and abundance of life. To adapt the analogy of the glass half full or half empty: we can either participate in this world in ways that are healthy for ourselves and the planet, or we can participate in ways that are unhealthy. We each get to choose daily the way we do life. And through our daily choices we can always recommit when the wheels fall off. They will fall off, and its our point of peace and non-self judgement which will help us get back on track.
