PERSONAL TRAINER

Experience—
· Actively and historically involved in health and fitness activities
· High School eduction plus tertiary studies
Qualifications & Certification—
· Current CPR certificate
· Certificate IV Fitness Instructor (Including own public liability and professional indemnity insurance)
· Ongoing training and professional development
Skills Required—
· Good communication skills—high standard of writing, spelling, listening skills, speech and diction, empathy, and problem-solving ability
· Basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, training methodology, basic nutritional principles, (psychology a bonus)
· Knowledge of acceptable and contra-indicated exercises
· Mature leadership qualities
· Ability to clearly demonstrate and explain a wide variety of exercises
· Sales ability and enthusiasm
Personal Attitudes—
· Genuinely interested in helping people
· Motivated towards personal and professional development
· Excellent listening skills
· Caring and empathic
· Passionate about the health and fitness lifestyle and industry
· Friendly and outgoing
· Must exhibit enthusiasm for the FOCUS, its members and fellow staff
· Able to be positive at all times (including when customers are rude)
· Reliable, supportive, and responsible in all matters

· Must treat others, at all times, as they would wish to be treated
Duties—
Fitness Instruction (80%)
· To know the FOCUS programs and FOCUS appointments and what is expected of the trainer at each stage
· Conduct appointments in the prescribed manner
· Offer sound nutritional advice in accordance with FOCUS programs
· Create safe and effective exercise regimes and programs
· Instruct and coach exercise programs and advise on correct exercise techniques
· Complete all workout cards for the following day
· Prepare for, attend, and actively contribute towards staff meetings and training sessions
· Supervise all training areas of the Club, assisting members, and ensuring all club rules are adhered to and OHS standards are upheld. Report and organise maintenance and repairs where required
Sales and Customer Service (20%)
· To go beyond our customer expectations
· To be aware of internal promotions and ensure consistent communication of such with members, encouraging participation
· Complete daily cleaning schedule and equipment check as identified
· Greet members at reception with a smile refer to by name
· Operate locker/keys/box system
· Perform sales as required – Focus programs, personal training etc (training will be provided), drinks, supplements,
