Position Function:

• A true passion for the provision and service of healthy food
• Undertaking cooking demonstrations as directed
• Assisting with consultation at Cypress Lakes resort in so far as cooking demonstrations and menus are concerned
• Ensure all kitchen operations are running effectively and profitably
• Adherence to the property’s Food Safety Manual
• Preparing healthy and nutritious food for guests
• Analyse and report on food statistics
• Limit food wastage
• Maintain standard recipes, including photographic presentation of all menu items
• Supervise and maintain quality control for outgoing meals and incoming produce according to specifications
• Ensure all food items received is fresh
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with personnel and suppliers
• Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends and new cuisine concepts
• Make recommendations for improvements and changes
• Motivate kitchen team

Ideally the successful candidate will possess the following skills:

• Experience within a similar kitchen/resort environment
• Knowledge and exposure to the fitness industry is desirable
• Exceptional presentation skills
• Exceptional customer service skills; both internally and externally
• High level of communication skills
• An active interest and commitment to a healthy lifestyle
• Experience with HACCP Accreditation would be highly regarded
• Relevant Trade Qualifications or equivalent
